Brazilian Fish Stew Aka Moqueca Baiana Recipe
This is a quick and easy Brazilian Fish Stew (Moqueca Baiana). Daily staples such as coconut milk, lime juice and fish are combined into this traditional Brazilian Seafood recipe. This recipe is suitable for gluten-free diets, Keto, Paleo and Whole 30.

Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon of palm oil or vegetable oil
  • 250 ml (1 cup) coconut milk
  • 1 yellow paprika is vacuumed and thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon chopped coriander
  • Rice and seasonings such as coriander, to be served
  • 1 kg (2.2 lb) mackerel is cut into pieces
  • 2 lime split
  • Salt
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 1 thinly sliced onion
  • 1 red paprika is sucked up and thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves of minced garlic
  • 1 red chili served and finely chopped
  • 500 ml (2 cups) warm fish stock
  • 400 g (14 oz) tin-chopped tomatoes


Instructions
  1. Add the fish to a ceramic mixing bowl, add 1 juice of lime juice and salt, stir well and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large saucepan over medium heat, add the onion for about 5 minutes until tender. Then add paprika, garlic and chili, then cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Mix the fish stock, chopped tomatoes, coconut milk, chopped coconut oil and coriander, bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and cook for about 20 minutes until the stew is reduced by one fifth.
  4. Add fish and lime juice and cook until the fish meat begins to peel, for up to 10 minutes. Season with extra lime juice according to your taste before serving with rice and spices.
